Visiting the Nest

  • The Nest is in Room 1954 on "Community Lane" near the school store and the UW Credit Union

​

  • We're open Monday through Friday.

    • A Days during Lunch & Advisory: 11:28 am - 12:43 pm

    • B Days during ASR:  2:19 pm - 3:47 pm

​

  • If you need something and can't get to the Nest, please use the Special Item Request Form button to order the items you need that are not found at the Nest.​

The Nest is :

  • open to all MHS students

  • welcoming & warm

  • a place to find items that you may find challenging to get

  • a place to find food for home, toiletries, school supplies, home essentials, and clothing.

  • a resource to help you connect with a social worker

  • easy to access. Simply visit during our open hours or ask a staff member to take you to the Nest.

  • frequently changing its inventory.

  • always here to help in any way we can!

  • What is the Cardinal Nest?
    The Cardinal Nest is a room at Middleton High School where MHS students who need a little extra help can get daily necessities such as food, personal hygiene items, clothing, and school supplies.
  • Can all students access the Cardinal Nest?
    All students are welcome at the Nest. We trust that students who do not need the items in the Nest will respect our mission to provide essential items for students in need.
  • Where is the Cardinal Nest?
    The Cardinal Nest is in Room 1154 and is open Monday through Friday. You can also submit a Special Item Request with the button at the top of this page.
  • When can I go to the Cardinal Nest?
    A Days: Lunch & Advisory B Days: ASR 1 & ASR 2 You may also ask any MHS staff member to take you to visit the Nest.
  • How many items can I get from the Nest?
    There is not a limit on food to prepare for home. We do not provide food as snacks for during the school day. Toiletries, school supplies, home essentials and clothing are limited to one item/type/week. For example, one shampoo, one toothpaste for one week.
  • Do you have bags for me to use?
    We have paper & plastic grocery bags in the Cardinal Nest.
  • I need something that is unique for me. How can I get it?
    Please use the Special Order Form! Thank you!
  • I don’t want to carry my items during the school day. Where can I put my bag until the end of the school day?
    You are welcome to keep your bag at the MHS Front Office and pick it up at the end of the day.
  • There is an item I think should be at the Nest. How do I make a suggestion?
